Another difficult month for Agricultural Machinery Sales

It was another difficult month for Tractor Sales in May as farmer sentiment continues to struggle in the face of supply challenges resulting from the war in Iran. Additionally, we continue to experience dry conditions in parts of NSW , QLD and SA further dampening demand. There were around 700 units sold in the month which was 12.5% below the same month last year. This brings the year-to-date figure to a level 9.4% below last year. All states reported declines in the month and, except for a small rise in the under 40 Hp range, all machine reporting categories were down also.

As we approach the halfway mark of the year there appears the very real prospect that a total sales of around 9,000 units is a distinct possibility for the full year. This would  be the lowest reported level in the last fifteen years.
