It was another difficult month for Tractor Sales in June as farmer sentiment continues to struggle in the face of supply challenges resulting from the war in Iran. Unlike previous years where we saw some end of financial year spending, June recorded around 1100 units sold which was 15% below the same month last year. This brings the year-to-date figure to a level 10.7% below last year.
All states reported declines in the month and, all machine reporting categories were down also.
As we are now at the halfway mark of the year there appears the very real prospect that total sales of under 9,000 units is a distinct possibility for the full year. This would be the lowest reported level in the last fifteen years.

In other machinery categories, Combine Harvesters saw 43 units sold bring the year-to-date figure to a level more than 50% down on the same time last year. Clearly, it looks like being a tough year for Combines also. Baler sales were steady in the month, down 3% and are now 21% up year to date.
Sales of Out-Front Mowers were up 12% and finally, sales of Self-Propelled (SP) Sprayers were again down, this time by 46% compared to June last year.
